On October 20, 2021, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida sentenced David Alexander Barcena to 3 months of incarceration, 9 months and 
1 day of home confinement, 36 months of supervised release, and a $400 special assessment. On August 17, 2020, Barcena pleaded guilty to falsely certifying various aircraft parts as airworthy and eligible for installation on commercial aircraft.
