On January 25, 2022, Charles Hathaway was sentenced in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida to 3 years of probation, a $9,500 fine, and a $100 special assessment. In October 2021, Hathaway, a commercial pilot for an air charter company, pleaded guilty to making materially false statements to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The investigation revealed that on six different occasions from 2018 to 2020, Hathaway made a false statement on the FAA Application for Airman Medical and Student Pilot Certificate by not disclosing multiple felony convictions.
