On October 11, 2022, Fredy Contreras pleaded guilty in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia to aiming a laser pointer at an aircraft. On November 9, 2020, Contreras knowingly aimed the beam of a laser pointer at a Gwinnett County Police Department helicopter while it was in flight during a law enforcement operation.

 

DOT-OIG is conducting this investigation with the FBI, with assistance from the Gwinnett County Police Department.
