Deadline for Submissions is Approaching
The deadline for submitting nominations for the 2023 National Small Business Awards is four weeks away! If you know a small business that deserves some big recognition, or you would like to nominate yourself, the deadline for submissions is Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022.
The Seattle District will be recognizing winners in each of the following 5 categories:
- Small Business Person of the Year
- Exporter of the Year
- 8(a) Graduate of the Year
- Rural Small Business of the Year
- Young Entrepreneur of the Year

Join us in Grays Harbor County
The SBA Seattle District office is teaming up with USDA Rural Development, Washington Small Business Development Center (WSBDC) and Washington Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) on Dec. 7, 2022 to introduce a variety of resources that are available to you, the Small Business Entrepreneur. Whether you are thinking about launching, or are already in business, this will be a great opportunity to network with other entrepreneurs and meet one-on-one with small business professionals from your area.

Low Interest Loans for Drought Recovery
Small nonfarm businesses in 29 Oregon counties and neighboring counties in California, Idaho, Nevada and Washington may be eligible to apply for an SBA federal disaster loan for economic injury. These low-interest loans are to offset economic losses because of reduced revenues caused by drought that began Feb. 8, 2022.
The deadline for applications is Dec. 8, 2022. Applicants may apply online, receive additional disaster assistance information and download applications at https://disasterloanassistance.sba.gov/. For more information on SBA disaster assistance, applicants may call SBA’s Customer Service Center at (800) 659-2955 or email disastercustomerservice@sba.gov.
