Last week, Administrator Guzman visited a business recovery center in Puerto Rico, which has faced unprecedented challenges like Hurricane Fiona. Over the last few months, SBA has approved millions of dollars in disaster assistance loans to help business owners and residents in Puerto Rico rebuild and recover from the storm.
This year, SBA’s Office of Disaster Assistance has helped communities recover from 328 disasters and approved more than $1.9 billion in loans.

Certification with SBA allows service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses to compete for federal sole-source and set-aside contracts across the federal government.
On January 1, SBA’s new Veteran Small Business Certification program implements changes from last year’s National Defense Authorization Act, which transfers the certification function from the Department of Veterans Affairs to SBA.
