Make A Difference, Mentor A Small Business Owner

The Vermont SCORE chapter and the Vermont Small Business Administration are seeking experienced small business professionals who want to help other small businesses succeed.

SCORE mentoring is a free service offered by a network of more than 10,000 volunteers from across the country. Mentors help small business owners start, grow and achieve new levels of success by providing experience, best practices and small business advice.

The volunteers of SCORE are the primary reason for the organization’s success. Since 1964, SCORE has educated and mentored more than 11 million small business owners and entrepreneurs. Make a meaningful difference in a business owner’s life by giving time and experience.

To learn how to become a mentor, attend a webinar at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 25. The link is https://score.zoom.us/j/96559173545 and meeting code is 965 5917 3545.

The U.S. Small Business Administration is accepting applications through the Veteran Small Business Certification online platform.

Veteran-owned small businesses can use the application to be certified by SBA to compete for federal contracts.

Certified veteran-owned small businesses will have the opportunity to pursue sole-source and set-aside contracts.

The improvements in the customer experience for Veteran entrepreneurs and business owners made by VetCert will build upon the $25 billion in government contract spending with service-disabled Veteran-owned small businesses in Fiscal Year 2021.
