On May 31, 2023, in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama, the U.S. Attorney filed an information charging Kevin Neslund with aiming a laser pointer at an aircraft. It is alleged that on or about September 28, 2022, Neslund aimed a laser pointer at a Dale County Sheriff’s Office helicopter near Neslund’s residence in Slocomb, Alabama.

 

DOT-OIG is conducting this investigation with the Dale County and Geneva County Sheriff’s Offices, with assistance from FAA.
